Assignment 2 Project: The 1:1 Scale Fuel Tank

The Blister

• Choose a pair of round hollow moulds 
• Cut the steel sheet to be the same size as the moulds
• Use female hammer to punch the middle part
• Use corking tool to create smooth edges  

Learning:
give the big punch on the middle at the first and then modify the edges.

The Tray

it's a IPhone 7 Plus Case and a storage for it!!!

• Use iPhone 7 Plus as a base to get the mould
• Use hammer carefully punch four edges
• Cut extra pieces  
• sand the surface 

Learning:

it's hard to get the first cut steel panel to be a right perimeter. it's much easier when you punch and cut the extra parts.  

Final：

The Torus

• Get the steel panel on a specific mould 
• Use hammer to punch and once it tends to be flat then fold it 
• Use cylinder mould to form two side

Learnings:

At the beginning, when you punch the panels, it tends to be flat. Therefore, it should be bended and then punch it again.

less pressure of each punch you give will bring a better surface

Final

The Bowl

• Use circle 2D form to draw the line
• Cut the edge of aluminium panel and sand the perimeter 
• Use the hammer to pound and measure it with the radius tool
• Use English wheel to make the bowl smoother and rounded  

Learnings:

Carefully choose the mould of English wheel  while once using the less radius and then jump to bigger radius.

Sandpaper can be used to make the surface and edges smother
